Violent Robbery Rocks Bermondsey Morning Commute
Detectives hunting a high-value robbery gang in south east London have launched a fresh appeal for a key witness. The attack unfolded at around 9.20am on Wednesday, 18 March, along Jamaica Road in Bermondsey, SE16.
Man Attacked and Robbed of Cash and IT Gear
A man in his 30s was walking when two thugs pounced, brutally assaulting him and snatching his bag containing a large sum of cash and valuable IT equipment. The pair fled the scene in a silver Vauxhall, believed to be heading towards Rotherhithe.
The victim was left injured and visibly shaken by the violent ordeal.
Police Seek Woman in Hatchback as Crucial Witness
Police want to trace a woman who was sat in a hatchback nearby at the time. She reportedly spoke to another witness shortly after the robbery and may hold vital information.
- Woman: White, 25-30, mousy blonde hair, London accent
- Man with her: 25-30, dark hair, stubble
Detective Constable Ashley Hooker said: “We are very keen to find this woman as we believe she can assist us with our enquiries.
“If you witnessed the incident or have any information, please get in touch. This was a nasty attack which left the victim extremely shaken.”
