Police Hunting Man in Soho Rape Probe
Officers have released a photo of Michael Lawson, 55, wanted in connection with a rape allegation in Soho.
What Happened?
The attack took place in the early hours of Saturday, 17 June in Soho, W1. A lone woman, walking away from friends, was assaulted. The police want to question Lawson over the incident.
Who Is Michael Lawson?
- Age: 55
- Height: 5ft 8ins
- Build: Medium, stocky
- Ethnicity: Black
- Distinctive feature: Scar under his left eye
Lawson may be known by other names. He is believed to frequent Soho and might operate an unlicensed cab service using a car. Anyone spotting him should not approach but call 999 immediately.
Police Appeal for Help
Detective Inspector Luke Bacon of the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit said:
“We are appealing for any information about this individual. Whether big or small, any tip could be vital to find him.” He added, “The female victim is receiving support from specialist officers. We remain committed to tackling violence against women and girls.”
