Armed Police Conduct Search in Barking After Firearm Threats

Armed police officers have been deployed to Barking after reports that a man was threatened with a firearm earlier today.

Incident Details

At 11:59 AM, police were called to Maybury Road, Barking, following reports of a man being threatened with a gun.

Armed Response Officers (AROs) attended the scene and conducted thorough searches of the area in an effort to locate the suspect.

Ongoing Investigation

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made at this stage and enquiries remain ongoing.

Public Safety Appeal

Police are urging anyone with information or witnesses to come forward.

A Met Police spokesperson said:

“We take all reports of firearm incidents extremely seriously. Officers are conducting a full investigation to identify those involved and ensure public safety.

Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact Met Police on 101, quoting CAD reference for 18 February.
