Man Busted at Channel Tunnel with Wads of Cash Hidden in Tinfoil

Cash Stash Sparks Border Force Alert

A 47-year-old man from Oldbury, West Midlands, was stopped by UK Border Force at the Channel Tunnel terminal in Folkestone on the evening of Monday 31 May 2021.

Border officers searched his Mitsubishi L200 with the help of a sniffer dog. They found several bundles of cash wrapped suspiciously in tinfoil.

£2,000 More Found on Him

The cash discovered was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act. In addition, officers found another £2,000 in the man’s possession.

Arrest Made Over Money Laundering

The man was arrested on suspicion of money laundering. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
