Life-Saving Defibrillator Stolen in New Year Theft!
The North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust is desperate to get back a vital piece of life-saving kit snatched in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
At around 12.15am on Union St West, Oldham, an unknown thief swiped a defibrillator from an emergency vehicle at the scene of an incident. This device is crucial for treating cardiac arrests and is standard on every NWAS ambulance.
Why This Theft is Seriously Dangerous
A NWAS spokesperson warned: “These defibrillators are much larger than community or public building models and need special training to operate.
“They are expensive, essential for ambulance crews, and if used incorrectly, can cause serious harm or even death. We urge whoever took it not to use it on anyone.”
