Brother and Sister Found Dead in Thamesmead Home Shock
Tragic Scene Unfolds at Holstein Way
A brother and sister were found dead with serious injuries at their Thamesmead home on Holstein Way. Emergency crews rushed to the property just before 3pm on March 11 after worried neighbours raised concerns about their welfare. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbour Describes Reclusive Woman
A police source confirmed the victims were siblings, with the woman believed to be in her 40s. Neighbour Lucy Francis recalled the woman as a recluse: “It is a shame we didn’t have much contact really. The last time I saw her was a year ago when she was being stretchered out with a suspected overdose. Her brother was clearly upset, especially as their mother had passed away previously.”
Police Investigation Underway
Chief Superintendent Trevor Lawry, leading the investigation, told locals: “We are currently probing the unexpected and unexplained death of two people. We believe they knew each other and are not seeking anyone else in connection at this time.”
Community Left Shocked
- Local resident Eseoghtene Keremu said: “It is really shocking and sad. It isn’t like this happens often. We are a close-knit community.”
- Neighbour Russell Wibb added the woman “kept herself to herself” and pointed out past issues with the property’s intercom that may have stopped health visitors from reaching her.
The victims’ next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. A crime scene remains in place as police continue their enquiries into the harrowing case.
