A local couple, Raymond and Elise Birt, are at the heart of a serious probe on the Isle of Wight. Raymond was found dead in an upstairs bedroom, lying in bed beside a mysterious note. Elise, his wife, is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
Son-In-Law Raises Alarm
The police were called just after 10.20pm on Sunday evening by the couple’s son-in-law, who raised the alarm. Authorities discovered a large number of pills at the scene, believed to have been ingested within a seven to eight-hour window before Raymond’s death.

Sources say Raymond suffered from Parkinson’s disease and was reportedly given a large quantity of tablets before he died. Since 8am Monday, forensic officers have been combing through the property, gathering evidence and photographing the scene.
