Man Busted in South Norwood Park Assault and Robbery Spree
Detectives have arrested a man suspected of a series of sexual assaults and robberies in South Norwood County Park. The arrest came on Monday afternoon, 1 July, and the suspect remains in custody.
Six Attacks on Women Shakes Local Park
Between 3 May and 21 June, police say six separate attacks targeted women aged from early 30s to mid-60s. Each victim was either walking or jogging alone in the park — five were walking dogs.
- All attacks took place on weekdays in broad daylight, between 10am and 4.30pm.
- Four victims were sexually assaulted.
- The suspect stole or tried to steal mobile phones in four incidents.
- None of the victims suffered injuries beyond the assaults.
Police are treating all offences as linked and have increased patrols in the area. Park users have been urged to stay alert.
