Teen Assaulted After Being Led on Foot Through Telford
A shocking attack unfolded on Monday, 22 February, at around 8pm in Malinslee, Telford. A teenage boy walking along Alma Avenue was approached by four young men, believed to be in their late teens. They forced him to follow them on foot through the town centre to a nearby flat, where he was assaulted.
Victim Chased to Town Park Next Morning
The next morning, the victim escaped the flat and ran towards Aldi in Grange Central. But the attackers trailed him again, this time taking him to Telford Town Park. They fled shortly after. A member of the public found the injured boy just after 9am.
Minor Injuries, Masked Attackers Sought
Paramedics treated the teen at the scene for minor injuries. The suspects are described as black males in their late teens. One wore a mask over his eyes. Detective Sergeant Deborah Bentley said:
“The investigation is in its infancy. We are working hard to uncover the full circumstances. We have taken a statement from the victim and are conducting a thorough enquiry. We believe this is an isolated incident and the offenders may be known to the victim.”
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
The attack has rattled the local community, prompting extra police patrols for reassurance. Officers want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything at any locations mentioned, especially drivers in the town centre on Monday evening or Tuesday morning with dash-cam footage.
