Armed Police Swarm Brighton Road After Hospital Knife Attack
Chaos erupted in Brighton on Sunday morning as armed police swooped in to detain a man who attacked another with a knife at Brighton Hospital. Witnesses watched in shock as officers surrounded the area.
Hospital Locked Down Amid Armed Search
Hospital bosses quickly threw the entire estate into lockdown while armed officers conducted thorough searches across the site. The situation caused major disruption but kept the public safe.
Victim Injured But Out of Danger
The victim, a 56-year-old man, suffered injuries that police say are not life-threatening. Emergency services rushed to the scene to tend to him.
Suspect Arrested on Attempted Murder Charge
Just before 10am, armed police arrested a 30-year-old man at a property on Wilson Avenue. He is currently in custody facing an attempted murder charge.
“This was an isolated and unexplained incident,” police confirmed. “It is not being treated as terrorism, and there is no indication anyone else was involved or at risk.”
