Mother and Toddler Miraculously Escape After M20 Crash Horror
A woman and her one-year-old child had a lucky escape this afternoon after a car swerved wildly across two lanes and collided with their vehicle on the coastbound M20 contraflow in Kent.
Crash Causes Chaos on M20
The driver, reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, lost control and crashed into the woman’s car, forcing it into the central barriers. The terrifying smash happened just after 3pm on Monday, prompting emergency crews to rush to the scene.
Kent Fire and Rescue dispatched two fire engines, while South East Coast Ambulance sent a land ambulance to the incident.
Injuries Reported But No Serious Harm
One lane of the coastbound contraflow was shut by police to help recover the vehicles. The man, who complained of chest pains, was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. Fortunately, his injuries are not believed to be serious.
M20 Fully Closed for Emergency Repairs
Highways England later closed the M20 in both directions to carry out urgent repairs on the damaged central barrier.
Kent Police have been contacted for comment as investigations continue.
