Shock Assault in Ashford: Pedestrian Attacked by Cyclist with a Wooden Stick

Police are hunting witnesses after a pedestrian was violently attacked by a cyclist in Ashford. The shocking incident occurred just after 8.45pm on Tuesday 7 August along Beaver Road’s footpath, between Stour Avenue and Christchurch Road.

Victim Attacked After Heated Argument

The victim was walking peacefully when a verbal dispute broke out with a cyclist. As the man turned to leave, the cyclist jumped off his bike and began striking him repeatedly with a piece of wood before speeding away towards Godfrey Walk.

Victim Injured But Escaped Serious Harm

The pedestrian suffered minor cuts and bruises to his hand and leg but didn’t require hospital treatment. Police described the attacker as a late-teen male, around 5ft 11ins tall, with short dark brown hair, a slim build, and clean-shaven.

Police Release E-Fit to Identify Cyclist

At the victim’s request, officers have released an e-fit image of the suspect. He was wearing a blue t-shirt and jeans at the time.

Chief Inspector said: “We urge anyone who saw the attack or has information about the cyclist to come forward. Your help is vital to bring this person to justice.”
