Chaos in Eastbourne as Boy, 12, Falls Through Roof

A 12-year-old boy suffered serious injuries this afternoon after falling through the roof of a building on Bolton Road, Eastbourne. The shocking accident sparked a massive emergency response on nearby Lismore Road.

Emergency Services Rush to Scene

Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance, plus East Sussex Fire & Rescue all scrambled to help. An ESFRS spokesperson said: “We are attending a major incident on Lismore Road with significant resources deployed. The road is closed and there is heavy congestion on surrounding streets. Please avoid the area to allow us to manage the situation.”

Transport Chaos as Roads Shut

The incident caused notable disruption. Bus services were rerouted, and local authorities advised drivers to seek alternative routes to dodge traffic jams.

Boy Hospitalised, Condition Stable

A Sussex Police spokesperson confirmed the boy was taken to hospital with serious but “not life-threatening” injuries. The incident has now been cleared and roads are back open.
