Tragedy struck Norfolk as 13-year-old Alfie Brown lost his life in a suspected hit-and-run near Swafield. The promising youngster was hit by a white Ford Ranger truck on the evening of Thursday, August 10. Family and friends are devastated, remembering him as “beautiful and brilliant.”
Alfie Fatally Struck, Driver Flees Scene
The horrific crash happened at around 6:30pm near North Walsham. Alfie was struck by the truck but despite emergency efforts, he sadly died from his injuries. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene, leaving Alfie’s family shattered. Police launched an immediate search and soon caught the suspect.
Man Arrested on Dangerous Driving Charges
A man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop. Authorities are probing every detail in a bid to deliver justice for Alfie and his heartbroken loved ones.

Alfie’s aunt, Emma Brown, started a fundraising campaign which has already raised over £12,000. She mourned her nephew, calling him an “adventurous, intelligent, beautiful boy with his whole life ahead of him.” Emma added, “Life will never be the same without him and he will always be in our hearts.”
Meanwhile, Alfie’s dad, Andrew Brown, shared a touching Facebook tribute: “RIP Alfie, we love you.” He also thanked everyone supporting the fundraiser, revealing the power of community in their grief.
