In a tragic incident, a collision between a car and a pedestrian in St Ives on Saturday night resulted in the death of a man in his 70s. The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:55 pm at the junction of Tregenna Place and Gabriel Place in St Ives. Police were alerted to the collision and immediately dispatched emergency services to the scene.

Despite the swift response and the administration of emergency medical care, the pedestrian tragically succumbed to his injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The authorities have informed the man’s family of the heartbreaking loss.
