Tragic Blaze in Stonebridge Claims Four Lives
A horrifying fire ripped through Tillett Close, Stonebridge, in the early hours of Saturday, May 24, killing a woman and three children. The London Fire Brigade and Metropolitan Police have launched a joint probe into the devastating blaze.
Early Morning Inferno: Rapid Response from Firefighters
Fire crews were scrambled at just after 1:13 AM following more than 20 emergency calls reporting a fire engulfing two adjoining terraced houses.
- Eight fire engines and roughly 70 firefighters from Wembley, Park Royal, Willesden, and nearby stations tackled the inferno.
- The blaze badly damaged both three-storey properties and was brought under control by 3:24 AM.
- Four people evacuated before firefighters arrived, with two taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
- A woman and one child were rescued from a second-floor window but tragically pronounced dead at the scene by medics.
- Two more children were found lifeless inside during the search and rescue operation.
Police and Fire Officials Speak Out
Assistant Commissioner Keeley Foster said: “This is an extremely tragic incident. Despite the heroic efforts of our firefighters, a woman and three children lost their lives. Our thoughts and support go out to everyone affected by this terrible fire.”
