Shocking rape case rocks Kent as four teen asylum seekers arrested
Teen girl attacked in Dover
Kent Police are investigating after a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a school in Dover. Four teenage asylum seekers have been arrested in connection with the horrific incident.
Afghan teens held on serious charges
The suspects, all Afghan boys aged between 13 and 16, are believed to have arrived in the UK last year on small boats. One 15-year-old boy faces a rape charge, while the other three are accused of helping restrain the victim during the attack.
All in care and same school
All four boys, who cannot be named for legal reasons, were detained at a Canterbury police station last week. They are unaccompanied minors seeking asylum and are in Kent County Council’s social services care. They reportedly attend the same school as the alleged victim.
Rising numbers of unaccompanied minors
- Unaccompanied children arriving by small boat have surged in the last two years.
- They made up one-fifth of the record 45,756 arrivals last year.
- Many of these minors come from Afghanistan following the Taliban’s return to power.
Police have released the four boys on bail but say their investigation is ongoing.
