A woman was killed and another injured after a hit-and-run on a quiet country road near Alton late Wednesday night.
Tragedy on New Odiham Road
Just before midnight, a woman in her forties got out of her car on New Odiham Road to inspect a fallen tree. Another driver, a woman in her fifties, also stepped out. Suddenly, a white Vauxhall Corsa sped through and struck them both.
One Dead, One Hurt
The woman in her forties was tragically killed at the scene. The second woman suffered injuries and is receiving treatment.
Police Seek Witnesses and Dash Cam Footage
Hampshire Constabulary is urgently investigating the hit-and-run. PC Jonathan Wood said, “This event occurred on a quiet country road late at night. We want to speak to anyone who saw the incident or the vehicles involved, especially anyone with dash cam footage.”
A police spokeswoman added that the deceased woman’s family has been informed and is receiving support from professional officers.
