Hero Police Dog Dixie Sniffs Out Drug Haul After Brighton Foot Chase
A daring foot chase through Brighton ended with a dramatic arrest and a major drug bust, thanks to Dixie – a hero German Shepherd police dog.
Taxi Trouble Sparks Wild Chase
On the night of Friday, 25 April at 10pm, Sussex Police’s Tactical Firearms Unit (TFU) on plain-clothes patrol spotted a dodgy man using a taxi in the Dyke Road area.
When officers tried to question him, the suspect lashed out, assaulting an officer before sprinting off.
Dixie Tracks Drugs to Hidden Stash
Thinking fast, a second officer flagged down a passing taxi to get ahead of the fleeing suspect, catching him moments later on Compton Road.
Meanwhile, PD Dixie followed the suspect’s trail to nearby The Drove, where she sniffed out a discarded bag full of suspected Class A deal bags.
Police later searched the man’s home, uncovering more drugs and cash — all seized as part of an ongoing investigation.
