A busy Home Bargains store in Amesbury was plunged into chaos this afternoon after a man suddenly collapsed, suspected of suffering a cardiac arrest.
Staff Spring into Action as Store is Evacuated
The alarm was raised just before 4pm at the Solstice Park outlet. Staff acted fast, evacuating shoppers in a swift, orderly fashion. Witnesses say CPR was immediately started on the man as panic spread through the store.
Air Ambulance and Armed Police Race to Emergency
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance landed at the scene, with critical care medics rushing to provide urgent, life-saving treatment. Armed police were also on hand, delivering emergency first aid and maintaining order amid the tense situation.
