Two Injured as Cars Smash Into Tesco in Berkshire

A shocking crash saw two cars and a minibus plough straight into a Tesco supermarket in Hungerford, Berkshire on Thursday evening.

Emergency crews from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue rushed to the scene shortly after 5pm. Firefighters used specialist cutting gear to free two people trapped in the wreckage. Both have been taken to hospital with injuries.

Car Still Jammed in Building, Safety Concerns Raised

Eyewitnesses say one car remains lodged deep inside the store, making the building look unsafe. Shoppers inside were quickly evacuated through fire exits, avoiding the front of the store where the crash left behind chaos.

“We were shopping when it happened. Staff led us to the nearest fire exit calmly and told us not to go near the front,” said a shopper fleeing the scene.

Structural Engineers Assess Tesco Damage

Structural engineers are now at the supermarket, carefully checking the damage to decide if the building is safe or needs urgent repairs.
