Young Blane Rundell Dies in Deadly Lesmahagow Collision
The Lanarkshire community is reeling after 22-year-old Blane Rundell was killed in a serious road accident near Lesmahagow last Thursday, December 7. Blane was behind the wheel of a red Suzuki Alto when it smashed into a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) on the B7078, just north of the Kerse Roundabout.
Emergency services pronounced Blane dead at the scene. Miraculously, no one else was injured in the crash.
Investigation Underway as 20-Year-Old Arrested
The Lanarkshire Road Policing Unit, led by Sergeant Chris McColm, is probing the circumstances of the fatal collision. A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence linked to the incident.
“Our thoughts are with Blane’s family at this very difficult time,” said Sergeant McColm. He urged anyone who witnessed the crash or has helpful information to come forward.
