Foul-Mouthed Driver Gets Slap on the Wrist After Swearing at Police
Unmarked Lorry Operation Snags Dangerous Drivers
Leicestershire Police are cracking down on dodgy drivers this week with Operation Tramlines. Using an unmarked HGV to patrol motorways, officers catch reckless motorists red-handed – all while staying undercover.
Driver’s Fiery Rant Backfires Big Time
One motorist learned the hard way not to mouth off at coppers. After cutting off the lorry to shoot off at a junction, the driver was pulled over. That’s when he unleashed a storm of four-letter swears at officers – not realising who they were!
“If you cut up the unmarked HGV to dive off at a junction, we’ll want to speak to you. Telling us to **** off when we pull alongside is a poor decision!” the police warned on Twitter.
The foul-mouthed driver was hit with two offences: driving without due care and a public order offence.
Operation Tramlines Targets More Motoring Offences
- A van carrying an insecure load with unsafe vehicle defects
- A lorry driver caught texting on the M1 southbound
- Multiple vehicles stopped as part of ongoing patrols
Leicestershire Police’s use of an unmarked HGV gives officers a bird’s-eye view of poor behaviour, building on last year’s busts of truckers caught eating while behind the wheel.
Drivers beware – the motorway isn’t the place for reckless antics or rude behaviour. The police are watching, and they’re ready to take action.
