Kent Police rushed to the bridge between Junction 9 and Junction 10 just before 3am, close to William Harvey Hospital. Officers found the individual on the wrong side of the safety railing, reportedly making threats to harm themselves.
Traffic was halted around half a mile from both junctions while specialist negotiators worked to calm the situation.
Traffic Chaos as Roads Closed
- Highways Agency officers put up roadblocks to keep the area secure.
- Lorries taking part in Operation Brock suffered delays due to the closure.
