A 45-year-old man was attacked with a weapon in Swindon town centre in the early hours today.
Violent Alleyway Attack Shakes Swindon
Just after midnight, police were called to an alley between Corporation Street and Alfred Street following a stabbing incident. The victim suffered cuts to his back and face after an altercation with a group of men.
Victim in Hospital but Injuries Not Life-Threatening
The weapon used remains unknown. The injured man is currently receiving treatment in hospital, with police confirming his wounds are not life-threatening.
Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
“This is a busy area of the town, so someone must have seen or heard something suspicious,” said Det Sgt Scott Anger. “We’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the fight between males around midnight on Saturday, 7 July, into the early hours of Sunday, 8 July.”
Police have stepped up patrols in the area as investigations continue.
