Man Arrested After Brutal Rolling Pin Attack in Worthing

A violent late-night assault in Worthing town centre has landed a man in police custody. The suspect was arrested after a bloody attack involving a rolling pin on Sunday night.

Rolling Pin Used in Shocking Assault

Sussex Police were called to Montague Street around 11.30pm on 1 June. Reports came in that a man had been viciously attacked with a rolling pin.

Paramedics treated the 47-year-old victim at the scene. Thankfully, he did not need hospital care, but his injuries were serious enough to require assessment.

Suspect Caught Thanks to Police Dog

The attacker fled on foot but was swiftly tracked down by officers and PD Raven, the police dog. The man was found hiding behind a basement stairwell nearby.

The 45-year-old man from portsmouth/" title="Portsmouth" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Portsmouth faces suspicion of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. He was also arrested for possession of a Class B drug and burglary, linked to a separate probe.

Police Seek Witnesses and Footage

The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue. Sussex Police want anyone who saw the attack or has CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
