Tragedy on the Thames: Man Found Dead in Erith
A man has been found dead in the River Thames near Erith in a heart-breaking incident. Emergency services rushed to Crabtree Manorway South and Church Manorway just after 3:15pm on Saturday, November 2, after reports of a person in the river.
Emergency Teams Battle to Save Life
Despite a rapid response from the London Ambulance Service and Metropolitan Police, the man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. The London Ambulance Service sent their Hazardous Area Response Team (HART), a paramedic in a fast response car, and an incident response officer to tackle the emergency.
Police Say No Suspicious Circumstances
The victim’s identity has not been confirmed yet. Although the death is being treated as unexpected, authorities say there are no suspicious circumstances.
“Police were called at about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, to reports of a person in the River Thames close to Crabtree Manorway South in Erith. Emergency services attended, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene,” said a Metropolitan Police spokesperson.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson added, “We were called at 3:22 p.m. to reports of an incident in Church Manorway, DA8. Sadly, a patient died at the scene.”
