Tragedy on Lordshill Way: Man, 67, Killed in Horror Crash with Bus

Deadly Collision Shakes Southampton

A 67-year-old man died instantly after his silver Vauxhall Corsa smashed into a bus on Lordshill Way, Southampton, at 6.30pm on Friday, June 28. The horrific crash happened between Woburn Road and the Lordshill District Centre.

Bus Driver and Passengers Hurt

The car was heading away from Lordshill, while the ‘First’ single-decker bus came the other way. The bus driver, 34, was trapped in the cab and had to be cut free by emergency services. He suffered a broken leg and was rushed to Southampton General Hospital.

Ten bus passengers also sustained minor injuries and received hospital treatment.

Police Hunt Witnesses and Dashcam Footage

Inspector Andy Tester from the Roads Policing Unit said: “We are investigating how the crash happened and are appealing for witnesses to contact us whether they saw the crash or the Corsa shortly before it happened. We’d also like anyone who has dash cam footage of the incident to get in touch by calling the Road Policing Unit at Totton on 101.”
