Man Dies on Sussex Undercliff Path in Early Morning Emergency
A man has tragically died following an early morning incident on the undercliff path between Ovingdean and Rottingdean, Sussex Police confirmed.
Emergency Services Swiftly Responded
Emergency crews rushed to the coastal path at around 6.10am on Thursday, 20 June after reports raised concerns for a man’s welfare. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service fought to save him at the scene.
Sadly, despite their best efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the location.
Police Launch Full Investigation
Sussex Police have opened an inquiry to uncover the circumstances surrounding the death. Officers confirmed the man’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support during this difficult time.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident,” a police spokesperson said.
Witnesses Urged to Come Forward
Police are appealing to anyone who was near the undercliff path between Ovingdean and Rottingdean on the morning of Thursday 20 June to get in touch. They are keen to hear from witnesses who might have seen anything suspicious.
