Man Stabbed in Chichester Alleyway – Airlifted to Hospital with Serious Injuries
A man has been rushed to hospital with serious stab wounds after a violent altercation in Chichester this afternoon (Monday, July 22).
Emergency Rush to Chichester Alley
Emergency services were called to an alley connecting Exton Road and Kingsham Road around 1.50pm. Reports of a fight quickly escalated to a stabbing. Police, paramedics, and the air ambulance all scrambled to the scene.
The injured man was treated at the scene before being airlifted to hospital. His injuries are described as serious and consistent with a stabbing.
Police Launch Full Investigation
A heavy police presence remains in the area, with officers conducting house-to-house inquiries. The alley has been cordoned off as a crime scene.
“We are responding to an incident in an alleyway linking Kingsham Road and Exton Road where a man has sustained serious injuries,” a Sussex Police spokesperson said. “It is believed to be an isolated incident involving individuals known to each other. There is no wider threat to the public.”

Residents are urged to stay vigilant but reassured that there’s no ongoing danger to the wider community.
