Met Police Take Over Crime Scene at Former Family Workshop
Officers are now treating the former family workshop as a full-blown crime scene. Kent Police initially arrived on Tuesday but have since handed control to the Met Police, who are firmly in charge of guarding and managing the area.
Heavy Police Presence on South Military Road
Three officers are stationed at the rear of the workshop, with stairwells cordoned off. Around 20 officers and two police carriers are securing the site at the junction of South Military Road and Citadel Road.
Investigation Linked to Serving Officer in Everard Murder Case
The workshop belonged to the family of a serving police officer now in custody over the murder of Sarah Everard. Police refused to comment on what evidence has been found. A witness from a nearby property said officers carried out searches on Tuesday morning.
Met Police Lead Inquiry, Kent Police Step Back
Kent Police confirmed the Met are leading the investigation and declined further comment. The intense police activity hints at new developments in this high-profile case.
