Met Police Take Over Crime Scene at Former Family Workshop

Police guarding the scene of a former family-run workshop have now declared the area a crime scene. Kent officers first arrived on Tuesday but have since handed over control to the Met Police, who are now managing the investigation and securing the site.

Heavy Police Presence at South Military Road

Met Police have cordoned off the back of the workshop and blocked off nearby stairs. Three officers are guarding the rear, while around 20 others, plus two police vans, remain on site at the junction of South Military Road and Citadel Road.

Investigation Linked to Sarah Everard Murder Case

The former workshop, run by the family of a serving officer who is currently in custody over the murder of Sarah Everard, is at the heart of the inquiry. Police declined to reveal what, if anything, has been found during their search.

Suspect Detained During Early Search

On Tuesday morning, officers searched the premises and detained one individual. A nearby resident who wished to remain anonymous confirmed the arrest. Metropolitan Police have been contacted for comment but remain tight-lipped.
