Man Stabbed to Death in Croydon – Police Hunt Witnesses
Detectives are scrambling for witnesses after a 60-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Croydon on Monday night. Police rushed to Woodcroft Road, Thornton Heath, around 9.30pm following reports of a stabbing.
The victim was found outside a home with serious stab wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.49pm. Next of kin have been notified, but formal ID is still pending. A post-mortem will be arranged shortly.
Homicide Probe Underway
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Harding is leading the murder investigation. He said: “The victim was discovered injured in a residential area. Woodcroft Road isn’t heavily trafficked, but someone may have passed through and seen something.”
“No lead is too small,” DCI Harding warned. “We’re piecing together what happened before and after this attack. Your call could fill crucial gaps.”
Suspect In Custody but Hospitalised
A 50-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and taken into custody. He fell ill in custody and was rushed to hospital, where he remains stable. Police continue their inquiries.
