Man Found Dead in Penzance Reservoir with Suspected Stab Wound

Police were scrambled to Drift Service Reservoir near Penzance at 4pm on Thursday, 18 February after a body was spotted in the water. Emergency crews pulled a man in his 30s from the reservoir, but he was sadly confirmed dead at the scene.

Suspected Murder Shocks Cornwall

Officers began CPR immediately, discovering the man had a suspected stab wound to his chest. A 50-year-old man linked to Cornwall was arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody as investigations continue.

Ongoing Hunt for Answers

Detective Inspector Steve Hambly from the Major Crime Investigation Team said: “We’re in the early stages of our investigation to establish the circumstances that led to the death of this man.”

Police have set up scene guards in St Ives and Penzance, expected to stay throughout the weekend. Enquiries were also carried out overnight across Cornwall and Warwickshire.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detectives want to hear from anyone who saw suspicious behaviour near Drift Reservoir or Lelant between Monday 15 and Thursday 18 February.
