A young woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being found unconscious on a Leeds street — but tragically, she died shortly after arrival.
Shocking Discovery in Austhorpe
Just before 6am on 28 March, police were called to Kennerleigh Avenue, Austhorpe, Leeds, where a young woman was found unconscious. Despite urgent medical treatment, she was pronounced dead soon after reaching hospital.
Unidentified Teen with Distinctive Features
The victim remains unidentified. Police describe her as slim, around 5ft 2in, likely in her mid to late teens. She had tanned skin, green eyes, and brown hair with darker roots and blonde ends. Notably, she wore fixed metal braces on both her upper and lower teeth.
Officers hope these details will help someone recognise her and come forward, so her family can be informed.
Four Arrested on Suspicion of Murder
Police have arrested four people from a nearby address: two 18-year-old women, a 20-year-old man, and a 17-year-old boy. All remain in custody as the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team investigates. A police cordon still blocks off the area.
Detectives Plead for Witnesses
“This is an extremely complex investigation where a young woman has sadly lost her life,” said Detective Chief Superintendent Marc Bowes.
“We have arrested four people in connection with it but have not yet confirmed her identity. We urge anyone who recognises her or saw anything suspicious on Kennerleigh Avenue in the early hours to get in touch.”
Police continue urgent enquiries as the local community reels from this tragic incident in Leeds.
