Illicit Cigarettes and Cannabis Seized in Harehills Crackdown
Trading Standards officers swooped on several off-licences in Harehills, uncovering a stash of illegal cigarettes. But that wasn’t all – a large quantity of cannabis was also found, leading to a suspect’s arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply.
One Man Arrested, Investigation Ongoing
The East 1 Neighbourhood Policing Team arrested a male at the scene. The drugs found are classified as Class B. Police say the probe is ongoing as they clamp down on crime in the area.

“We have taken significant action with partner agencies to make Harehills safer,” said Sergeant Porritt. “This includes tackling anti-social behaviour, street drinking, drug supply, and illegal business operations. Today’s operation disrupted offenders and removed large amounts of illicit tobacco and drugs from our streets.”
“We will continue working with partners and the public to rid our communities of illegal goods,” he added.
