Teen in Critical Condition After Brutal Old Kent Road Stabbing

A shocking stabbing on Old Kent Road late Wednesday night has left a 17-year-old boy fighting for his life. Three victims were rushed to hospital following the violent attack.

Victims’ Conditions Revealed

  • Another 17-year-old suffered less serious wounds and has since been discharged.

Suspect Arrested and Released on Bail

Police detained a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of attempted murder after a brief chase. He has now been released on bail while the investigation continues.

The A2 Old Kent Road was closed overnight for forensic work but has since reopened to traffic.

“Police were called at 10:47pm on Wednesday, 27 August to reports of a stabbing on Old Kent Road. Two 17-year-old boys were found with stab wounds. One remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition. The second was discharged after assessment showed his injuries were not life-threatening. A 17-year-old was arrested following a short pursuit on suspicion of attempted murder and has been released on bail. We understand the community’s concern and increased police patrols will be visible in the coming days.”
