Fatal M25 Crash: Motorcyclist Killed, Lorry Driver Flees Scene
Police are hunting a lorry driver who fled after a fatal smash on the M25 that claimed the life of a motorcyclist in his 40s. The crash happened around 12:30pm on Wednesday, September 26, between junctions 5 and 6 — the stretch linking Kent and Surrey.
Tragic Collision Involving Three Vehicles
The smash involved a blue Suzuki motorcycle, a silver Toyota Corolla, and a lorry described as having a white cab, blue side curtains, and yellow signwriting. Kent Police say the lorry driver left the scene without stopping. Officers have released photos of the vehicle and are keen to track down the driver.
Motorcyclist Dies at Scene
Emergency services were scrambled but despite efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead. Next of kin have been informed, but his identity has not yet been made public.
Police Urge Lorry Driver and Witnesses to Come Forward
Detective Inspector Pete Greaves said: “We want to trace the lorry’s owner who might not realise the crash’s severity. We urge the driver to contact us immediately.”
Officers are also appealing to motorists with dashcam footage of the crash or the involved vehicles before the collision to step forward. Any footage could be crucial in piecing together how this heartbreaking crash unfolded.
