Man Attacked with Noxious Substance in Ramsgate Graveyard

Kent Police are hunting witnesses after a shocking assault in St Laurence Graveyard left a man burned and fighting for his recovery. The victim was doused with a harmful substance while walking along Manston Road, Ramsgate, at around 8:20 pm last night.

Victim Hospitalised with Burns

The attacker threw the substance as the man entered the graveyard, causing burns to the back of his head. Police have not confirmed whether this is being treated as an acid attack, but the victim is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening.

No Arrests Yet as Police Launch Probe

Despite a fast police response, no arrests have been made so far. Authorities are actively investigating the incident, appealing for witnesses and any dashcam or doorbell footage around Margate Road, Newington Road, and Manston Road.

Chief Inspector Ian Swallow Urges Public to Help

“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything to get in touch. Anyone with footage from the area, please check for anything that could help officers with the investigation,” said Chief Inspector Swallow.

He also promised an increased police presence in the Thanet area to reassure the local community while enquiries continue.
