Masked Thugs Raid Pensioner’s Home for Precious War Medals
Masked men smashed their way through the glass back door of a pensioner’s home on Hilltop Road, Oldbury, just after 7pm. They threatened the terrified woman to open her safe, seizing her late father’s priceless war medals, cash, and jewellery before making a swift escape.
Heartbreaking Theft of Irreplaceable Family Heirlooms
Though unharmed, the pensioner was left deeply shaken by the brutal raid. Among the stolen items were two rare WW1 medals with the engraving ‘TA Morris’, a Queen Victoria ‘Goblet Florin’ two shilling coin minted in 1800, and a five shilling piece transformed into a brooch.
Police Plead for Public’s Help to Catch Crooks
Detective Sergeant Ian Comfort of Force CID appealed to the public: “If you’re offered these medals or have any information, please get in touch. The woman is heartbroken over the loss of her father’s war medals and desperately wants them back.”
He added, “We are conducting urgent enquiries to find those responsible. If you know anything, call us.”
