Mystery Incident on A46 Sparks Urgent Police Appeal
An unsettling event unfolded on the northbound A46 yesterday afternoon at around 3.15pm. A white or silver vehicle was spotted in a layby just south of the Owthorpe turning, involving a man and a woman, both described as white.
Possible Link to Woman in Distress in Shelford
Police suspect this incident may connect to two reports of a distressed woman seen between 4.30pm and 5.30pm in Stoke Ferry Lane, Shelford. Detective Inspector Simon Harrison from Nottinghamshire Police said:
“These are clearly very concerning reports and we are urgently investigating what happened.
Officers have worked through the night tracking several vehicles spotted in the area. We now urge the public to come forward with any information.”
Police Seek Witnesses and Dashcam Footage
Detective Inspector Harrison added: “We want to speak to anyone who drove along the A46 around 3.15pm yesterday and noticed a white or silver car parked in the layby. Dashcam footage would be especially helpful. If you were involved, please contact us immediately to make sure no one was harmed.”
