Sex Attacks in Dagenham Park Spark Police Hunt
Police are hunting a suspected sex attacker after two young girls were targeted in Dagenham’s Central Park within a week. Officers believe the same man struck on separate occasions.
Two Attacks, One Suspect
- First attack: Early teen girl assaulted at 11:30am on Monday, 14 September.
- Second attack: Mid-teen girl targeted at the same time, one week later on 21 September.
Both victims were walking through Central Park when an older man approached and sexually assaulted them.
Police Description of Suspect
The suspect is described as:
- Between 45 and 60 years old
- About 5ft 5in tall
- Slightly overweight
- Balding head
- Tanned skin
He fled the park immediately after both assaults, possibly disturbed by passersby.
Police Urge Vigilance, Not Alarm
“These were frightening incidents which, understandably, left both girls very distressed and upset,” said Detective Constable Neil Godwin from East Area Command Unit.
“Both assaults happened mid-morning, when plenty of people were around, and I would urge anyone who saw anything to get in touch. We would also ask the public to remain vigilant, but not alarmed.”
Officers will increase patrols in Central Park.
