Tragic Crash on Hockford Lane Claims Life of Woodley Man
A deadly smash involving a Ford Transit, a VW Caddy, and a Ford Fiesta rocked Hockford Lane near Brimpton Common at around 8.10pm on Monday, July 11.
58-Year-Old Passenger Dies at Scene
Tragically, the passenger in the VW Caddy, a 58-year-old man from Woodley, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have notified his family and are supporting them through this difficult time.
The VW Caddy driver, a 59-year-old from Reading, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital receiving treatment.
Leicester Man Arrested Over Fatal Crash
A 22-year-old man from Leicester was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving under the influence. He is currently in police custody.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision, or anyone who witnessed what happened, to contact us as soon as possible,” said Detective Constable Lyndsey Blackaby.
“We are also interested in speaking with anyone who may have dash-cam footage.”
