Brutal Night-Time Attack Leaves Man Fighting for Life in Newark
Violent Assault Just After 2 a.m.
At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 26, trouble erupted in Middle Gate, Newark. Two men, enjoying a night out, were heading to another pub when they were set upon by three attackers.
One Brother Critical, Other Hurt
A 39-year-old man was knocked unconscious and rushed to Queen’s Medical Centre. He remains in critical condition. His brother escaped with minor injuries.
Police Hunt Trio of Late-20s White Males
Detectives are urging witnesses to come forward. The suspects are described as white men in their late twenties. “This was an unprovoked attack on two brothers just enjoying a night out with friends,” said Detective Inspector Pam Dowson.
She added: “They had been to several pubs and were on their way back to The Duck when the violence broke out.”
Call for Witnesses
The police have launched enquiries, including checking CCTV footage, and are determined to catch those responsible. They want anyone who saw what happened or has any vital info to get in touch.
