80s Salisbury Man Targeted in Courier Fraud Scam

An elderly man in his 80s from Salisbury was tricked into handing over a large sum of cash by a scammer posing as a police officer. The con involved calls on January 20, 21, and 24, where he was urged to withdraw money to “help an investigation” into his bank account.

A man later turned up at his home to collect the cash.

Wiltshire Police are investigating the crime and are appealing to anyone who spotted a suspicious vehicle in the Winterbourne Gunner area on those evenings to come forward.

Witnesses should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54230009641.
