High-Speed A12 Chase Ends in Attempted Murder Arrest
In the early hours of Thursday, November 9, Met Police launched a nail-biting car chase on the A12 that ended with a man slapped with attempted murder charges.
Police Pursue Cloned Plate Vehicle
The drama kicked off at 1.40am in Gants Hill when officers tried to stop a car sporting cloned number plates. The driver slammed his foot down and fled, sparking a tense pursuit that ended near New Spitalfields Market.
Officer Injured as Suspect Reverses
Tensions soared when, as police approached to arrest the suspect, the driver reversed and hit an officer. The cop was rushed to hospital with leg injuries but is thankfully expected to recover.
Suspect and Two Others Arrested on Multiple Charges
- A 27-year-old man was hauled in at the scene facing attempted murder, failing to stop for police, aggravated vehicle taking, driving under the influence of drink or drugs, and possession with intent to supply drugs.
- Two more males, aged 21 and 22, were arrested for drug possession with intent to supply.
