Woman Attacked After Night Out – Police Hunt Suspect
Young woman fights off attacker in early hours
A 21-year-old woman was followed and sexually assaulted by a man near Castle Boulevard just after 2am on Saturday, 4 March. The victim noticed the stranger trailing her as she walked home.
Attack near Cornerstone Church
As she neared Cornerstone Church, the man struck from behind. She bravely fought him off, forcing the attacker to flee towards Castle Marina.
Police release suspect image
Officers have now released a photo of the man they want to identify. PC Chris Cutts, leading the probe, said: “This would have been a terrifying experience for the victim, and we are determined to find the person responsible.”
He added: “The victim was making her way home from a night out when attacked. She escaped, and the suspect ran off in the direction of Castle Marina. We want to hear from anyone who knows this man or if you are the man in the image, contact us immediately.”
