Disturbing Footage Sparks Outcry
The footage shows a youth throwing a black and white cat off the towering ledge of what looks like an old quarry. Another figure watches silently in the background. The camera then zooms in on the cat’s fall into the water below, with no sign of it resurfacing.
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 2,000 likes, retweets, and furious comments from social media users. Many called for the culprit to be tracked down and punished.
Lancashire Police Launch Full Investigation
Lancashire Police confirmed they are treating the incident as a serious animal cruelty case. They appealed to the public for any information that could help identify the offenders.
“We are aware of a video posted on social media showing an apparent act of cruelty to a cat in the Carnforth area,” a police spokesperson said. “We are investigating, establishing the exact circumstances and location where it happened.”
