Women sexually assaulted at Highbury bus stop – police launch urgent appeal
Attack at Bus Stop Sparks Investigation
Detectives are hunting for two women after a man in his 50s allegedly sexually assaulted them at a bus stop in Highbury on Sunday, February 2. The shocking incident happened between 5:55 pm and 6:15 pm at the CW bus stop opposite City of London Academy on Highbury Grove.
Witnesses say the suspect approached and attacked the women before they fled the scene. Police rushed to the area, but the victims had already left.
Police Urge Victims to Speak Out
Detective Sergeant Thomas Barnes from Islington is leading the probe and pleads: “While we understand how difficult it can be to talk about, our officers are here to provide specialist support. We urge these women to come forward.”
The two victims are described as white women in their early to mid-20s – one with blonde hair, the other brunette.
The suspect, spotted wearing a beige long-sleeved jacket and dark scarf, was arrested at the scene. He has since been released without further action pending more enquiries.
