Teen Dies After Horror Crash on London Road, Man Arrested
Fatal Collision Shakes Purfleet
A 17-year-old boy has died following a serious two-car crash on London Road, Purfleet, south Essex. Emergency crews rushed to the scene near Stonehouse Corner roundabout at around 10.15pm last night (Thursday, April 24).
Arrest Made at Scene
Despite paramedics’ best efforts, the teenage victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has been informed and is receiving specialist support from Essex Police.
An 18-year-old man from Rainham was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
Road Closure and Appeal for Witnesses
London Road was shut for several hours overnight while collision investigators worked. The road has now reopened.
An Essex Police spokesperson said:
“We are now appealing for any drivers in the area at the time of the collision to get in touch, particularly if they have dashcam footage, to support our enquiries.”
